Third-year students at Toase Senior High School (SHS) in the Atwima Nwabiagya Municipal are facing a shocking situation as their teachers demand 800 cedis from each student to guarantee their success in the upcoming West African Senior School Certificate Examination (WASSCE).
According to sources, the teachers have promised to help or assist the students during the exams, ensuring they pass, in exchange for the payment. This blatant exam malpractice has left many students and parents feeling outraged.
To make matters worse, the teachers have already collected 110 cedis from approximately 2,200 students as "appreciation fees" - a payment whose purpose is unclear.
The students are scheduled to begin their WASSCE exams next week, and the situation has raised serious concerns about the integrity of the school's examination process.
We urge the relevant authorities to investigate this matter immediately and take appropriate action to ensure the integrity of the examination process and hold those responsible accountable.
